　　第七届全国人民代表大会常务委员会第十四次会议决定：全国人民代表大会法律委员会主持审定的《中华人民共和国香港特别行政区基本法》英译本为正式英文本，和中文本同样使用；英文本中的用语的含义如果有与中文本有出入的，以中文本为准。

  DECISION OF  THE  STANDING  COMMITTEE  OF  THE  NATIONAL  PEOPLE'S
  CONGRESS ON THE ENGLISH TEXT OF THE BASIC LAW OF  THE  HONG  KONG  SPECIAL
  ADMINISTRATIVE REGION OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
  (Adopted at the 14th Meeting of  the  Standing  Committee  of  the
  Seventh National People's Congress on June 28, 1990)
  The 14th Meeting  of  the  Standing  Committee  of  the  Seventh  National
  People's Congress has decided that the English translation  of  the  Basic
  Law of the  Hong  Kong  Special  Administrative  Region  of  the  People's
  Republic of China, examined and  approved  under  the  aegis  of  the  Law
  Committee of the National People's Congress, shall be the official English
  text and shall be equally authentic as the Chinese text. In  case  of  any
  discrepancy in the meaning of wording between the  English  text  and  the
  Chinese text, the Chinese text shall prevail.
